Take a smaller bag to Miyajima and through the rest of western Japan. With Silk Crane, send the extra suitcase from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, then arrange delivery when you want it again.
Monthly and annual storage plans are available, with shipping charged separately. If you need the suitcase back after today’s sightseeing, Hiroshima Station has local alternatives. Compare Crosta, lockers, a nearby independent counter and guest hotel holding by the time and place you will collect.

Miyajima today, a lighter journey tomorrow

Picture a traveler staying in Hiroshima before continuing through Kyushu. One suitcase holds purchases and clothes for the final Tokyo stay. She wants those belongings later, but they need not accompany her on every train.
She signs up for Silk Crane, follows the supplied sending instructions and hands the packed suitcase to her hotel front desk. She keeps documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with her. Miyajima’s waterfront is easier to enjoy with a shoulder bag, and the next train journey has one less suitcase to manage. Delivery to her later Tokyo hotel is arranged ahead.
For a simple day trip that ends at Hiroshima Station, a local locker or counter can be a better fit. The useful question is when you need the bag again.
A convenience-store stop, then a lighter day
Already out with a suitcase you will not need for the next part of the trip? Picture sending it from a convenience store, then carrying on with a small bag. Sign up for Silk Crane, follow the supplied sending instructions, keep your essentials during shipping and arrange delivery to a later hotel in Japan.

1. Silk Crane: send the bag and arrange later delivery
Choose Silk Crane when your extra luggage can skip part of the journey. Send from your hotel front desk or a convenience store, keep a smaller bag and arrange delivery when you want the stored belongings again. There is no trip to a Silk Crane storage location or return to the same locker.
Cost: a monthly or annual plan, plus separate shipping. Compare the current storage plans together with sending and return-delivery costs. Silk Crane has no walk-in counter at Hiroshima Station and does not provide immediate retrieval or same-day local holding.
Sign up before sending and follow the supplied instructions. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you. The hotel and airport delivery guide explains how to plan the return. If you simply need the suitcase at your next hotel soon, direct forwarding may be the simpler choice.
2. Crosta Hiroshima: a staffed counter on station 2F
Crosta Hiroshima’s current location and service guide places the counter on 2F, north side. From the Shinkansen gates, follow the passage beside the Pokemon Center and continue past the Hotel Granvia entrance. This matters if you have an older station map.
The operator lists 09:00–20:00 and ¥1,000 per item per day, with storage for up to 30 days and further daily charges. Ask about your item if it is unusually large. Collection still means returning to this counter during its opening hours.
3. Station-area lockers: save the bank and the floor
The minamoa and ekie locker guide links maps for minamoa 1F east and west, plus ekie 2F CLINIC & SERVICE, the 2F Pokemon Center/convenience-store passage and 1F DINING. These are several locations, not a single locker room.
Read the price, compartment dimensions, access hours and daily charging boundary at the bank you choose. Photograph the surrounding signs as well as the locker number. A station-linked shopping building should not be assumed to provide overnight access.
4. Tours Hiroshima: a ¥500 counter across the river
Tours Hiroshima’s storage guide lists ¥500 per item and 08:30–17:30 at 2-29 Kyobashicho, SS Building. Its current site specifically asks for collection by 17:30. Advance reservation is recommended, although walk-ins may be accepted.
Walking directions from Hiroshima Station to Tours Hiroshima — about 4 minutes / 280 m from the Hiroshima Station South Exit Underground Plaza map point. Use the map for the street approach and allow extra time to cross the station if arriving from the north. This choice suits a day that ends early enough to collect; it is less convenient when an evening in the city is the main plan.
5. Hotel Granvia Hiroshima: useful when you are staying there
Hotel Granvia Hiroshima’s guest services includes luggage holding before check-in and after checkout. If you have a stay booked there, ask the hotel about your bags and collection time before paying for separate storage.
Use the hotel’s station access guide for the north-side approach. This is Hotel Granvia Hiroshima, not the separate South Gate hotel. Treat it as a guest service, not a public counter available to everyone or a promise to hold belongings between distant trips.
Two station convenience stores that handle shipping
Your hotel front desk may be the easiest starting point. If you already have the suitcase at the station, the minamoa and ekie shipping-service directory lists Yamato TA-Q-BIN at the ekie 2F 7-Eleven Heart-in stores by the Shinkansen entrance and in front of the conventional lines, with service hours 06:00–23:00.
Use the minamoa and ekie floor guide to find the exact store. Sign up for Silk Crane first and use the supplied sending details. Bring the suitcase ready to send; the directory says these stores do not sell packing boxes. Confirm bag acceptance and the dispatch cutoff. Store opening time does not guarantee same-day dispatch.
These are independent shipping points, not Silk Crane storage branches. The ekie information desk’s purchase-consolidation service is a different arrangement.
Questions before choosing
Which Hiroshima option works for a Miyajima day trip?
A locker or counter near your return route can work well. Crosta closes at 20:00; Tours Hiroshima requires collection by 17:30. Leave enough time for the journey back and collection before your train.
Can I avoid returning to Hiroshima to collect my suitcase?
Silk Crane stores belongings sent by parcel service and arranges later delivery within Japan. That can suit a continuing journey. Sign up before sending, keep essentials with you and arrange the later delivery in advance.
Enjoy the next stop with less to carry
Send the extra luggage from your hotel front desk or a convenience store and arrange delivery to a later stop in Japan. Choose monthly or annual storage; shipping is charged separately.
