Hamamatsu Station Luggage Storage and Lockers: Plan Collection
Take less luggage into Hamamatsu Station by sending the case you will only need later in Japan. For same-day holding, the Hamamatsu tourism bureau’s station storage guide lists lockers in the May One basement, Ekimachi East, and the station’s east and west exit areas. It also identifies the bus-terminal basement, Entetsu department-store basement and Shin-Hamamatsu. These are different collection points, with different access hours.
A train journey with only the bag you need
Picture leaving your Hamamatsu hotel for the next city. Your backpack has clothes for the coming days, while the large case holds purchases and spare clothing for later. Arrange to send that case to Silk Crane before leaving the hotel.
Head to the station with the backpack and time to buy lunch. You can move toward the correct gates without first returning for the stored suitcase. Arrange its delivery to a later hotel ahead of time and keep anything needed during shipping with you.
After signing up with Silk Crane, follow your supplied sending instructions. If you are already out with the packed suitcase, you can send it from a convenience store before continuing your departure from Hamamatsu.
Choose a bank around your collection time
The bureau’s August 2026 guide lists May One basement access as 6:30–23:00, Ekimachi East as 6:00–23:30, the station east exit as 6:00–23:00 and the west exit as 8:00–22:00. Those published differences matter when planning an early or late train. Confirm the current times on your chosen machine.
Keep a photo of the locker number and surrounding signs. Check the price, payment method, charging boundary and maximum period before paying. Allow space for the suitcase’s wheels and handles; a location list does not guarantee a vacant compartment.
The tourist information center is another local option
The center’s published baggage-holding terms give service hours of 9:00–18:00, a maximum bag weight of 20 kg and a limit of three consecutive days. Collection outside opening hours is not available. Check its current charge and accepted contents before handing over a case.
This is local holding, separate from Silk Crane. Keep the counter’s closing time in the plan if you are visiting an attraction or attending an event. A late return train does not extend the center’s collection hours.
Check which station and exit you are returning to
JR Hamamatsu and Shin-Hamamatsu are separate stations. A bag left by one railway does not automatically fit a departure from the other. The same applies to a locker downstairs at the bus terminal compared with one in the station building.

Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep your medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.

Are all the locker areas open at the same time?
No. Published access hours differ by location. Check the actual bank before paying, especially if you have an early or late departure.
Can the tourist information center hold my suitcase?
Its published terms provide temporary baggage holding, subject to contents, capacity and a 20 kg weight limit. Check current charges and collect within its 9:00–18:00 service hours.
