Fukui Station Luggage Storage and Lockers
Share
Make your Fukui Station arrival the start of a lighter trip. Send the extra suitcase from your hotel to Silk Crane for monthly or annual storage and arrange delivery to a later hotel, with shipping charged separately. Keep the bag you need for Fukui and leave the spare case out of the transfers.
An excursion without the spare suitcase
Imagine using Fukui as a base during a longer rail trip. You send the case needed later from your hotel into Silk Crane storage, then keep a compact bag for the Fukui stay.
On an excursion day, the smaller bag can stay in a suitable local locker if you will return for it. The larger case stays out of the station journey until you arrange delivery to a later hotel.

Where to look for Fukui Station luggage lockers
JR West’s Fukui Station page lists coin lockers. Echizen Railway’s locker-location list also lists a separate bank outside its Fukui gates. Follow signs for the operator and location you actually choose.
Check the available compartment against your packed bag, then read payment and collection instructions. Record the nearby landmark and access details. A locker at one operator’s station is not automatically beside the gates for your next train.
Choose storage around the departure you need
Confirm the railway name on your ticket: the Hokuriku Shinkansen, Hapi-Line Fukui and Echizen Railway are distinct services. If you are continuing on an excursion bus, identify its departure point before leaving your bag.
Keifuku’s Eiheiji bus guide places the direct temple service at the east exit. Our Eiheiji luggage guide covers that visit. For the museum journey via Katsuyama, use the Dinosaur Museum guide.
Treat retrieval as part of the connection
Plan the attraction-to-station journey before setting an onward train time. Leave room for delays, the walk to your locker and the correct ticket gates. A visit finishing at a museum or temple is not yet a return to your luggage.
For belongings you will not need during this part of Japan, Silk Crane storage can remove the need to retrieve the spare case in Fukui. The Fukui city guide explains that wider itinerary.
Send the spare suitcase and plan its return
Book storage, follow the sending instructions and ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment. Keep medicine, documents and the belongings you need during shipping with you. Confirm that your later hotel can receive the case, then plan your storage and delivery dates.
Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately; the storage and shipping cost guide explains the distinction. Arrange delivery in advance rather than expecting immediate collection at the station or attraction.
Questions before you go
Does Fukui Station have coin lockers?
Yes. JR West lists lockers, and Echizen Railway lists lockers outside its own Fukui gates. Check which location fits your route.
Are all Fukui departures through the same gates?
No. Check the operator on your ticket and follow the appropriate signs. Allow time to collect a bag before transferring.
Can Silk Crane return luggage at Fukui Station tonight?
Silk Crane provides shipped storage and later delivery, not immediate station collection. Arrange delivery in advance to a hotel that can receive your case.
What if the locker I find is too small?
Ask station information about current alternatives or your hotel about holding the bag. Send spare luggage into planned storage before the journey if you will not need it during this leg.
