Dejima luggage storage: enjoy the historic streets with a smaller bag

Give Dejima’s restored streets and houses your attention, with the spare suitcase out of the visit. Silk Crane stores belongings sent from your hotel on monthly or annual plans and arranges delivery to a later stop. Carry a smaller bag for Nagasaki; shipping is charged separately.

Choose storage for your Nagasaki trip

Time for the old trading-post streets

Imagine a Nagasaki stay after several stops in Japan. Purchases fill a suitcase that you will not need until the final hotel, while a small shoulder bag holds the day’s essentials. Send the extra case from your hotel to Silk Crane and arrange its later delivery.

At Dejima, you can pause by the restored buildings and take your time with the displays without finding space for that suitcase. Keep enough everyday clothing with you for the days ahead and allow time for both shipments.

Check the on-site locker before starting your visit

For a case needed again today, Dejima’s official visitor FAQ lists lockers inside the Head Clerk’s Quarters. The published compartments are 35 cm wide and 57 cm deep, with heights of 33, 56 or 113 cm. A tall locker is not necessarily wide enough for a large suitcase.

The FAQ also says the information office can keep luggage that is too large for those lockers. Ask about your bag and the collection arrangements on arrival. If you would rather settle the case before reaching the site, our Nagasaki Station luggage guide covers a separate collection point.

Retrieve the bag before the next part of the day

Dejima’s current admission and access guidance states that re-entry is not possible. Collect anything stored inside before leaving for the waterfront, a meal or another neighborhood. Do not plan to leave the site for lunch and simply return to the locker afterward.

Dejima’s historic site, Dejima Wharf and Dejima Messe Nagasaki are different places. Save the actual holding location rather than just “Dejima” in your notes. A bag kept inside the historic site still needs collection there, even if the rest of the afternoon takes you elsewhere.

Send the extra case and arrange its return

Book your storage plan and follow the sending instructions. Ask your hotel front desk to help arrange the shipment, or use a convenience store that accepts it or a Yamato service center. Keep documents, medicine and everything needed during shipping with you.

Silk Crane receives shipped belongings for monthly or annual storage and later delivery. Shipping is charged separately. Before sending, confirm that your later hotel can receive the case and plan your luggage delivery dates around Nagasaki. The storage and shipping cost guide explains the separate charges.

Questions before you go

Where are Dejima’s lockers?

What if my suitcase is too large?

The FAQ identifies information-office holding as an alternative. Ask staff about your case and when to collect it.

Can I leave Dejima and return for the bag later?

The admission guidance says re-entry is not possible. Collect your belongings before leaving.

Does Silk Crane provide a Dejima counter?

No. Send belongings from your hotel into monthly or annual storage and arrange later delivery. Local lockers serve a different, same-day need.
