DRAFT - Shipping Estimates Table Styling Test
Storage Shipping rate estimates by size & region
Silk Crane stores luggage and sporting goods for travelers anywhere in Japan, with shipping to and from hotels, airports, and resorts. Estimated rates below are broken down by bag size and region. In Japan, shipping costs are based on total package dimensions — not weight — so a heavy bag costs the same as a lighter one of the same size. Items over 200 cm or 30 kg may need a custom quote.
We ship exclusively with Yamato Transport — ヤマト運輸
Every shipment we handle moves through Yamato Transport’s nationwide network — Japan’s most trusted door-to-door delivery service, with over a century of experience. Our relationship with Yamato goes beyond a standard carrier arrangement. Their team knows our storage operations, and when questions arise about a delivery address or a shipment needs special handling, they call us directly to resolve it. Your bags are in good hands from the moment they leave your door.

How Japan Shipping Actually Works
Rates shown are estimates
These are estimates and may vary based on your actual pickup or delivery address.
Oversized or overweight items require consultation
Items that exceed 200 cm in total dimensions (length + width + height) or weigh more than 30 kg may be subject to additional surcharges or handling requirements. If your item falls into either category, please contact us before booking so we can confirm availability and provide an accurate quote.
How shipping rates work in Japan
- Rates are based on package size (length + width + height), not weight
- A heavy bag ships at the same rate as a lighter one of the same dimensions
- Weight only matters if your package exceeds 30 kg, at which point surcharges may apply
- This is different from most countries, where weight — or weight combined with size — determines the cost
Regional Details
For simplicity, we have divided Japan into four regions: Hokkaido, Northern Japan (Tohoku), Central Japan (Kanto, Shinetsu & Hokuriku), and Southern Japan.
