Use current holding information for today’s suitcase
The city’s Kawagoe Station tourist-information page lists baggage holding at ¥600 per item, with handling from 09:00 to 16:00. The desk itself stays open until 17:00, so confirm the bag’s collection deadline when leaving it rather than assuming the later time applies.
Be careful with older lists of tourist-information offices. The city’s Hon-Kawagoe relocation notice says baggage holding is suspended following the January 2026 move. That office is not the same as Kawagoe Station’s desk. Use the current facility information for the place where you intend to leave the case.
Choose the return route before the shopping streets
Kawagoe, Kawagoeshi and Hon-Kawagoe are different stations. Save the exact holding location and check how you will return from the old town before leaving luggage. A journey arriving at one station and departing from another can create a collection detour.
The Kawagoe tourism association is a useful starting point for planning the streets and stops. Allow time to browse the warehouse-style shopfronts and side streets rather than filling every minute. Keep any local baggage deadline in view before adding another café or shop.
